5th May 2012: Britainnia at Pensthorpe May Spring Festival
For my first 5th Century Roman reenactment event of the year, a section of Britannia attended the annual Pensthorpe May Spring Festival in North Norfolk, to put on a show for the crowds in the Reserve area at 12:30.
Several other reenactment groups were there, including a Celts camp, a 14th Century Living History / Robin Hood Camp and Elizabethan Camp with Queen Elizabeth First.
Other activities included learning the art of Maypole dancing, May Queen/Green Man Fancy Dress Competition, Hobby Horse races, traditional dancing, storytelling, floral head dress workshops, fire performance, music and face painting.
Due to other commitments, I was only there on the 5th May, although the event was over 3 days.
