Inspired by the Havering Hoard, discovered in 2018 during excavation at a site near Rainham Marshes. A possible late Bronze Age enclosure was identified by aerial photography in the 1960s which was confirmed by recent excavation prior to site development for gravel extraction. 453 copper alloy objects were found including axes (both complete and broken), sword and knife fragments, wood working tools, spearheads and bits of bracelet. It is the largest Bronze Age hoard from London and third largest found in the UK.
