Specialist Dr. James Dilley produces replicas from the European Stone Age and Bronze Age for private collections, museum displays, TV props and educational handling sessions. Ancient Craft prides itself on its historical accuracy, therefore each replica has been carefully researched and expertly reproduced based on archaeological evidence.
AncientCraft’s Stone Age Replicas (Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic) are made using authentic tools such as beach cobble hammerstones and antler soft hammers. Years of research and handling of archaeological material has given James a detailed understanding of making replicas that closely emulate the originals.
"James was extremely knowledgeable and excellent working with the children. He set out a lovely display of furs and tools and talked to the children before they started knapping. He was extremely patient and the children all thoroughly enjoyed the session, everyone took away a knapped piece of flint which resembled a tool. Excellent value for money and would recommend him to other groups and schools."
