About
A one day workshop (9.30am – 4.00pm) located at the Trust for Thanet Archaeology’s home at the Antoinette Centre at Quex Park, Birchington, Kent. Four places are available each day on the weekend of 11th and 12th of May 2024.
James will guide you through the process of casting your own Bronze Age sword, which you can take home with you, from making a mould to casting the molten bronze and finishing the casting afterwards.
All equipment is provided, but participants must wear stout footwear and work clothes.
As well as casting your sword, you can see a display of Bronze Age finds from Thanet in our Pop up Museum display.
Workshops at the Antoinette Centre are fun and informal and our many collaborations with James have always been exciting and instructive.
Tea and coffee will be provided over the day and participants can stay at the Antoinette Centre for lunch and tea breaks or visit one of the Cafes on the Quex Park Estate.
