Welcome to ANCIENTCRAFT
Ancient craft is dedicated to the archaeology of primitive crafts and technologies during prehistory - mainly focused on the Stone Age, but extending into the Bronze Age and through to late Roman. This includes references to materials such as lithics (also known as "flintknapping"), wood, bone, horn, leather, metals and cloth (linen and wool).
I am craftsman and re-enactor who specialises in prehistoric technologies and have around 10 years experience of flintknapping. I have worked with museums, schools, YAC, archaeologists, heritage centres, film companies, photographers and geologists in research and experimental work. My outreach objective is to encourage people of all ages to learn about ancient crafts and have some appreciation of daily life for people in the distant past.
