Alice Roberts latest book collaboration with Dorling Kindersley is out now!

A visually stunning and richly informative exploration of what makes our species unique, combining cutting-edge science with beautifully detailed narrative and imagery to tell the story of human evolution from deep time to the present day. Ancient Craft worked closely with the publishing team as a consultant and supplied period-accurate replica artefacts, helping to bring prehistoric tools, materials, and objects to life for readers. These expertly crafted replicas both enrich the visual storytelling and ensure that the material culture illustrated in Humans is as historically grounded and authentic as possible — enhancing the book’s appeal to scholars, enthusiasts, and general readers alike.

Previous Work with Dorling Kindersley
AncientCraft have been involved with a number of projects in collaboration with DK books. From consultancy to providing period accurate replicas, clothing and modelling...

A Child Through Time
This DK history book explores daily life from the Ice Age to the modern era through the eyes of 30 different children. Targeted at ages 7–12, it features detailed illustrations, maps, and timelines revealing the clothes, food, and games of historical children.
AncientCraft provided consultancy and period-accurate replicas for Taya's Ice Age section.

DKfindout! Stone Age
DKfindout! Stone Age is a fun, trivia and activity-filled book that teaches children between 6 and 9 years old all about prehistory. The book is a great learning resource for KS2 History, covering everything from the clothes they wore, the tools they would use, and the foods they would eat to give kids an understanding of how life would have been in the Stone Age.
The series placed a strong emphasis on the fact that the books were written in conjunction with educational experts to make sure the information is trustworthy and age-appropriate. AncientCraft provided consultancy, period-accurate replicas and living history modelling for the book's production. The DKfindout! series won Silver in the MadeForMums Awards 2017.

Life In The Stone Age
DK Reader Life in the Stone Age explores the 2.5 million year history of early humans, covering old (Paleolithic), middle (Mesolithic), and new (Neolithic) eras. By exploring topics like mammoths, cave paintings, shamans, and shelters this book provides young readers with everything they would need to know about life in the Stone Age in DK's informative and easy to read style.
This Level 2 reader combines a highly visual approach with non-fiction narratives to encourage young children to develop an interest in and desire to read, while learning about this enigmatic time period.
AncientCraft provided consultancy, period-accurate replicas and living history modelling for the books production.
